For quite some time, tangible guidebooks have been essential – occasionally life-saving – tools for riding, be it on a dual-sport, ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), and in a UTV (utility terrain vehicle). They provide valuable information to properly plan an enjoyable, yet safe, experience on the trail, typically including comprehensive maps which are crucial for navigating unfamiliar areas. Importantly, these books often highlight the details of specific ATV trails: difficulty ratings, terrain variations, and points of interest.

onX Off-Road & Tread Lightly! Clean Up 8,400 Pounds of Trash on Trails

Some of those good people are working hand-in-hand with onX Off-Road and Tread Lightly! on their "Project 1,000" nonprofit, which recently cleaned up over 8,400 pounds of garbage from Michigan's trails. The organization's undertaking was an impressive one, with the effort in late June going beyond trash cleanup. Over 375 hours of combined labor hours invested, the initiative was also able to install 1,120 feet of protective fencing and 7 trail signs. In total, over 75 miles of trail were improved thanks to 56 volunteers.
