This Rookie Made History at Dakar...And Almost Nabbed the Podium

While congratulations go out to Cristina Gutiérrez who, alongside her co-driver Pablo Moreno, secured the Number One title at the 2024 Dakar Rally. But the real standout this year was our own American badass, Sara Price.

During her rookie appearance in Saudi Arabia, not only did she keep us on the edge of our seats (narrowly missing a podium finish in her first year), but she became a minor legend as the only female from the USA to win a stage..

Did we mention it was her first year? Most people don't finish this rally raid, let alone accomplish so much during their introduction. True, it was a heartfelt race for Sara but, damn, it was exciting!

While there are many notable women at Dakar, only two have ever won the Dakar Rally in their class: Jutta Kleinschmidt in 2001 and Cristina Gutiérrez in 2024. And they make up the two of three (the third being Price) to win stages.
