Tires are like tools; the right one exists for every job, and using one designed for a specific task is how the best results come about. Long-running aftermarket parts manufacturer QuadBoss has announced a new riding style-specific tire geared towards loose terrain, and it debuted the model at the recent Sand Sports Super Show.

Designed for extremely tough terrain first and foremost, the new QuadBoss tire is a dedicated tool for a dedicated job. The QBT 889 Loose Terrain tire is designed for just that: Loose terrain. This can be dirt, sand, mud, broken rocks, and so on. QuadBoss knows that most riders, be them spending their outdoors time on an ATV or UTV, tend to do a lot of riding on this terrain type, so this is poised to be a slam dunk for many enthusiasts.

Getting down to the nitty gritty, the radial QBT 889 is an 8-ply tire which should pay dividends on the front of durability. QuadBoss says it has a very unique tread pattern and that the company's test riders supposedly spent a lot of time making sure the tire was up to the task of being an off-road jack-of-all-trades, something we hope to test the merits of these claims ourselves in the not too distant future. The QBT 889 will be available in five sizes from the get go, but don't be surprised to see that number increase as production ramps up.

“We designed our new loose terrain tire to meet the needs of a huge part of our customer base,” said QuadBoss Brand Manager Aaron Whitney. “Loose surfaces make up a lot of our riding time, so we’re confident that off-road riders will appreciate the traction and stability in the QBT889s.”
