The electric side-by-side wars are heating up, and entrants from brands like Volcon are only helping push the notion that more competition makes for better products all around. The newest EV UTV on the block is the Volcon ePowersports HF1 Electric UTV, and it has some big claims up its sleeve.

While the only images of the HF1 are low-quality and via the brand's Instagram page, Volcon did publish a full press release on its Investor Relations page. While some details are still yet to be revealed, the press release does paint a pretty good picture of what the HF1 will be.

One of these things that Volcon claims the HF1 to be is extremely exciting, as the company promises it is the fastest accelerating vehicle in the Utility Single-Cab Electric class. This is thanks to an automotive-style 350-volt electrical system backed by ruggedized battery packs. This means they can withstand "thermal, shock, impact, crush, and force discharge test" standards that meet the UN 38.3 Certification. This is paired with a 17.5 kWH battery system, which allows for a 60 MPH top speed and a range of up to 60 miles. Recharging can be done in 11 hours with Level 1 charging, and recharging with a Level 2 charger takes 7 hours.

The HF1 has goodies like selectable 2WD/4WD and 11 inches of ground clearance. Inside, the HF1 has a 13-inch LCD display that houses a backup camera, GPS tracking, mobile connectivity, and controls for a 4-speaker stereo. Early-run HF1s also get a 5,000-pound winch.

All HF1s are being built in Volcon's Thailand manufacturing facility, with final US assembly and deliveries coming via the company's Texas headquarters. Volcon is ahead of schedule and shipping the first run of HF1s this fall, ahead of production hitting its fully ramped-up stride in the first quarter of 2025.

"The defining feature of electric technology is its ease of use, low maintenance needs, and quiet operation," said John Kim, CEO of Volcon ePowersports. "The HF1 is a game-changer in the industry, providing users with an incredibly powerful, eco-friendly alternative that doesn't sacrifice performance. We're excited to be at the forefront of this electric revolution, offering products that appeal to both outdoor enthusiasts and those with commercial and industrial needs."
